Pipeline Corrosion & Cathodic Protection Survey System

  DCVG(Direct Current Voltage Gradient) is a non-destructive and efficient equipment for detecting underground pipeline corrosion and cathodic protection effectiveness. By combining CIP and DCVG detection, potential hazards in pipelines can be fundamentally eliminated. Both CIP and DCVG require periodic on/off of cathodic protection current. CIP uses one copper sulfate electrode and a long wire connected to the pipeline to read the pipeline's own polarization potential to ground, eliminate IR drop (Voff), and identify issues such as insufficient protection, unreasonable rectifier output, DC interference, and cross pipeline overlap. DCVG uses two copper sulfate electrodes (with a spacing of 1-2m) to accurately locate the location of the damaged anti-corrosion layer, calculate the% IR, determine the severity of defects, and assess the current flow and corrosion activity of defects.

  Using CIP alone cannot accurately locate a single point of leakage, only the abnormal potential section can be seen Using DCVG alone cannot rule out the possibility of insufficient cathodic protection. The combination of the two can efficiently and accurately determine the problems in the pipeline and provide excavation points
Main Features

1. High positioning accuracy
The positioning error of the leakage point is small, and vertical and horizontal retesting can accurately lock the center of the damage, greatly reducing the amount of blind excavation work and saving construction costs.

2. Defect grading to guide maintenance planning
Classify defect levels based on% IR values, prioritize high-risk severe damage, arrange maintenance plans reasonably, and improve pipeline operation and maintenance efficiency.

3. Able to identify active corrosion points
Different from ACVG that simply finds leakage points, DCVG relies on cathodic protection DC signals to determine whether there is a corrosion risk in defects and to control hidden dangers in a targeted manner.

4. Superior anti-interference ability compared to AC detection
Based on DC intermittent signals, it is less susceptible to mild interference from road AC and cable AC stray currents, making it more suitable for urban and factory pipelines.

5. High efficiency of large-scale inspection
Single or double people can walk along the pipeline for inspection, equipped with distance measuring wheels and GPS synchronized recording of defect mileage and coordinates, suitable for surveying tens of kilometers long pipelines.

6. Accurately evaluate whether cathodic protection meets the standard
By using Voff power-off polarization potential to determine whether the pipeline meets the -850mV (CSE) protection criterion, quantifying the overall pipeline protection effect, and providing a basis for adjusting rectifier parameters.

7.Early detection of potential corrosion risk pipeline sections
Quickly locate under protected and unprotected areas, provide early warning of corrosion hazards, and avoid long-term under protection of pipelines leading to perforation and leakage.

8. Identify hidden electrical faults
It can detect connection faults that cannot be detected by the naked eye, such as insulation flange failure, cross pipeline metal overlap, and sleeve short circuit, which cannot be identified by ordinary leak point detectors.

9. Quantifiable level of stray current interference
Determine the strength of DC stray current through the fluctuation amplitude and positive and negative offset of the potential curve, and guide the construction of drainage renovation.

10. Suitable for various buried steel pipelines
Oil and gas transportation, water supply and drainage, thermal steel pipelines, and plant process pipelines can all be used without mild interference from conventional road surfaces.
