This combination allows it to perform optical televiewer (OTV) logging for detailed fracture mapping and full-waveform sonic (FWS) logging to derive dynamic elastic properties (P-wave and S-wave velocities) of the surrounding rock. Simultaneously, integrated micro-resistivity and spectral gamma sensors provide complementary data on lithology and natural fracture porosity. The system's genius lies in its sensor fusion software, which synthesizes these data streams to produce a Composite Rock Strength and Fracture Aperture Index, a direct, visual indicator of geomechanical stability and fluid migration potential at the borehole wall.

Critical Applications in Energy Transition and Environmental Stewardship
In a deep geothermal project, TerraScope data is used to precisely identify and characterize productive fracture networks for well targeting and to assess the risk of induced seismicity from stimulation. For a CCS operation, it is indispensable for baseline characterization of the storage reservoir and caprock, providing visual and geomechanical evidence of their integrity before injection begins, and for monitoring campaigns afterward. In designing a deep geological repository, the system offers unmatched evidence of excavation-damaged zones (EDZ) around tunnels and can monitor the geomechanical evolution of backfilled materials and seals over time, providing crucial data for long-term safety cases presented to regulators.

The probe housing is made from hydrogen-embrittlement-resistant alloys, with pressure and thermal compensation systems rated for depths beyond 3000m and temperatures above 150°C.
