Digital Slop Inclinometer Geotechnical Slop Indicator to monitor borehole displacements and subsurface movements
A Slop Displacement Inclinometer is a type of instrument used in geotechnical engineering to measure the displacement and deformation of slopes and earthworks. It works by measuring the angle of inclination of a borehole drilled into the slope, which is then used to calculate the amount of displacement and deformation that has occurred.
The instrument is used to determine displacement by dip angle. It is mainly used to detect horizontal displacement of deep excavation, side slope, foundation, and pier during observation periods. Bury casing tube in the ground by drilling. When deformation occurs in deep excavation, side slope, and foundation, the casing tube will change, too. The inclinometer probe moves along casing tube and make determination point by point. Then you can get accurate horizontal displacement. Then you can make prediction to provide guide to construction according to horizontal displacement determined. When make determination for pier, you just fix it on the pier, it can determine inclination change of pier.
Slope inclinometers are geotechnical instruments used to measure horizontal displacements along various points on a borehole. For this reason, sometimes they are also called borehole inclinometers or simply inclinometers. Slope inclinometers are the most important source of geotechnical data during construction (Erikson et. al., 1992). Slope inclinometers are widely used to measure lateral soil and wall movements in slurry wall and deep excavations (Fig. 3.4).
