Overview
    WDJD-3A Multi-Function Digital DC Resistivity/IP Meter (hereafter also referred to as WDJD-3A or WDJD-3A mainframe), based on years of experience of design and manufacture, meets user's most and latest needs. It features multiple functions, high accuracy, fast speed, high reliability and excellent expandability. Measured data of WDJD-3A can be processed by other multi-electrode resistivity software, which makes the interpretation more convenient. The single WDJD-3A can conduct general electrical resistivity/IP survey. If WDJD-3A is used together with WDZJ-4 multiplex electrode switcher (hereafter also referred to as WDZJ or WDZJ-4 switcher), it can conduct multi-electrode 2D Resistivity imaging. Application of WDJD-3A can be in metal and nonmetal mineral resources detection, city geophysical exploration, railway and bridge inspection and so on; as well as in hydrology and engineering geology such as seeking for ground water, inspect dam base and flood protection levee for incipient faults. What's more, it also used for geothermal prospecting. In view of several functions of WDJD-3A, this user's manual devotes on introduction to each function. The first Section (Section One) in this user's manual devotes on
introduction to WDJD-3A itself and related components, in Section Two is
pre-measuring procedures. Section Three gives operating procedure guide to general resistivity/IP survey. Section Four focuses on operation guide to multi-electrode 2D resistivity imaging.

Working Principle:
    The multifunctional digital DC IP instrument explores underground geological conditions by measuring the differences in IP effects of different rocks and minerals, that is, by observing and studying the IP effect of the earth. This technology is based on the double layer theory at the interface between rock particles and the surrounding solution, and believes that the induced polarization effect of rocks is related to the double layer at the interface between rock particles and the surrounding solution. When an external current acts on the surface of rock particles, the cations in the double layer dispersion zone move to form a double layer deformation. When the external current is cut off, the accumulated ions discharge to restore to a state of equilibrium, thereby observing the induced polarization electric field. The speed of the formation of this double layer deformation induced polarization and the speed of discharge are determined by the speed and path length of the ions moving along the particle surface. Therefore, larger rock particles will have a larger time constant (that is, the speed of charging or discharging).
