Optical Televiewer Logging Borehole Wall Imaging Survey Equipment

Optical electric logging plays an important role in the field of subsurface exploration and geological engineering. By acquiring images of the well wall, such logging equipment provides a wealth of geological and stratigraphic information, laying the foundation for subsequent development and research. In this paper, we will briefly discuss the application, configuration and use of optical electric loggers.

Optical electrographs are generally composed of a light source, an imaging system, a sensor and a data processing unit. The light source provides the necessary illumination to ensure clear imaging of the well wall; the imaging system is responsible for capturing and recording the image information. The sensor integrates data acquisition and transmission, while the data processing unit analyzes and processes the acquired data to generate user-interpretable graphs and reports.

To use the Optical Electrometer, the operator needs to first place the device in the hole and adjust the appropriate depth. During the measurement, a light source illuminates the wall of the well and the reflected light from the structure is recorded by the imaging system. The operator needs to ensure that the equipment is stable so that the image quality is not compromised. After the image is successfully acquired, the data is then analyzed, which is critical for accurate interpretation of the borehole wall features.
