The GDP-3D kit consists of two main parts, the survey tool itself and a portable Android controller that is used to operate and present the borehole survey data. There is a lithium battery inside the probe for the survey tool to get power. To connect to the portable controller, turn on the survey tool and the controller itself, run the "Reader" App and then the program should automatically detect the GDP-3D probe and you are ready to start your survey.
The GDP-3D is a magnetic multi-shot survey tool. The electronic unit consists of three magnetometers and three accelerometers. They measure the magnetic field and gravity where the tool is placed along. The sensor data obtained during a survey is stored in the internal memory of the tool and can be downloaded vie Bluetooth when the tool is connected to the Android controller. The Power Part contains a 7.4v rechargeable lithium battery, which can be charged no less than 500 times. The adapter with an ID number "430xxx" is used to connect a steel wire and slowly lower it down the hole. User can choose the spear-head or the screwed connector due to different rig. The endurance of the probe is about 20 hours.

There are several ways to measure the deviation of boreholes, and what method that is best for you depends on what sort of borehole you have. But for all boreholes we want to place the survey tool at a given depth, called a survey station. At that survey station we want to make a measurement, sometimes called a survey shot, to get the azimuth and inclination. The azimuth and inclination, together with the depth are used to calculate the borehole trajectory.
