Use of marine magnetometer

 

 

The marine magnetometer is used in under the sea, marine geophysicists, ocean engineers and nautical archeologists. They use marine magnetometers to detect variations in the total magnetic field of the underlying seafloor.

Working method of underwater magnetometer:
 marine magnetometer survey , the magnetometer sensor is towed underwater on a cable behind a boat. The magnetometer is connected to a computer that continuously records the magnetic field strength reported by the magnetometer as well as the position of the boat from a GPS receiver.

the exploration depth of a magnetometer is unlimited. It is certainly sensitive to the Earth's field and this is generated in the Earth's Core, some 5000 km beneath our feet.
