1. Electrode arrangement and data acquisition: Multi-electrode imaging cables are arranged with multiple electrodes (usually up to 96 electrodes), which can be arranged in preset arrays (such as Wenner arrays, dipole arrays) or custom arrays. Each electrode is responsible for collecting underground electrical parameters and transmitting these data to the resistivity imaging system through the cable for processing.

2. Resistivity measurement: Multi-electrode imaging cables are used to measure the resistivity of underground media, which is achieved by injecting current into the ground and measuring the voltage drop. The electrode spacing in the cable can be any distance with customzied , depending on the specific measurement requirements. By measuring the voltage and current between different electrodes, the apparent resistivity can be calculated, and then the real resistivity distribution can be obtained by inversion.
