Geophone is an acoustic detector, which is placed on the ground surface in various patterns, or arrays, to record the vibrations generated by explosives in seismic reflection and refraction work. Geophones are more sensitive to disturbance immidiately before the impact since the initial erro is integrated. A geophone works using a coil of wire wrapped around a mass, suspended by a spring over a magnet.
