The geophysical borehole logger is used for subsurface investigation, i.e., groundwater resources investigation for human consumption. 
The equipment shall be able to collect and display information of subsurface during investigation in water-filled borehole of different operating conditions. 
The purpose of this technique is to carry out logging of boreholes of desired depth so that the application will allow obtaining information of the subsurface from shallow, medium and deep penetration of borehole face.

Borehole Logging Equipment are to:
a) Identify the nature of subsurface layers,
b) Determine thickness and layer boundaries,
c) Groundwater potentiality of subsurface layers
d) Groundwater quality, intrusion of pollutants, salinity etc.
