Product Description
Drone Magnetometer High Resolution Airborne Magnetometer Survey Instrument Airborne Magnetometers
Airborne/drone magnetometers, also known as aerial magnetic surveying, are used to measure the Earth's magnetic field from an airborne platform. This technology has become an essential tool for geophysical exploration, mineral exploration, and geological mapping, among other applications.
One of the key advantages of airborne magnetometers is their ability to rapidly cover large areas of ground. By flying over a region with an airborne magnetometer, geologists and geophysicists can quickly collect data on the magnetic properties of the Earth's crust. This can help to identify potential mineral deposits, geological structures, and other subsurface features.
In addition to their speed, airborne magnetometers are also highly sensitive and precise. They can detect even small variations in the Earth's magnetic field, providing detailed information on the geological characteristics of a region. This information can be used to create detailed maps of the subsurface, helping to guide exploration and resource development activities.
Overall, the combination of speed, sensitivity, and precision makes airborne magnetometers a valuable tool for a wide range of geophysical and geological applications. Whether mapping the geology of a region or exploring for mineral deposits, this technology provides critical insights into the Earth's subsurface, helping to inform decision-making and resource development strategies.
Our magnetometers are capable of measuring magnetic fields ranging from 10,000 nT to 105,000 nT with a sensitivity of 0.0006 nT, allowing us to accurately capture even the most subtle variations in the Earth's magnetic field.
We use optically pumped cesium magnetometers with a sensitivity of 0.006 nT, and computer controlled real-time digital compensation, giving an overall system resolution of 0.01 nT. The magnetometer sensors in the aircraft and in the reference station are identical, ensuring that all magnetometer data sets are equivalent in terms of sensitivity and noise envelope. The sampling rate can be adjusted depending on survey requirements, with most surveys delivered at 10 Hz.
