The steel ruler water level gauge provides the most accurate method for measuring water level. It is usually used to measure the water level in wells, boreholes and water level pipes. It is particularly suitable for observing the groundwater level in hydropower projects or for manual inspection of the dam body infiltration line of earth-rock dams. This instrument can be used during construction or for long-term safety monitoring of projects.

When measuring, let the winding reel rotate freely, press the power button, put the probe into the water level pipe, hold the steel ruler cable, and move the probe slowly downward. When the contact point of the probe touches the water surface, the sounder of the receiving system will emit a continuous buzzing sound. At this time, read the depth dimension of the steel ruler cable at the pipe mouth, which is the distance between the groundwater level and the pipe mouth. (If the buzzer cannot be heard when measuring in a noisy environment, the indicator light and voltmeter can be observed.)
The user must pay attention to two points when measuring:1. Due to the limited battery capacity, the power switch should be turned off immediately after each measurement. Don't forget! When replacing the battery (the battery is 9V), unscrew the battery cover screw, push open the battery cover and replace the battery.
2. After measurement, the probe and steel ruler cable must be wiped clean, and the steel ruler cable must be neatly wound on the winding reel and then placed in the cabinet.
3. The probe must be sealed when working and it is absolutely forbidden to disassemble it. (It cannot be placed horizontally in water). The measuring cable must not be bent, especially near the side head end, to avoid damage.
4. The probe should be handled with care and avoid violent vibration.
