OTV Optical Borehole Imagers, also known as Borehole Optical Televiewers, are advanced tools used for high-resolution imaging and visualization of borehole walls. These tools provide exceptional clarity and detail of borehole surfaces, capturing lithological, mineralogical, and structural information. They utilize optical technology to produce 360° unwrapped digital images of the borehole wall, whether in air or clear water, with resolutions of up to 1800 pixels over the borehole circumference.

These televiewers play a crucial role in core orientation by providing detailed and oriented structural information. They aid in mapping rock types, fractures, joints, lithologic contacts, and bedding intersecting the borehole, enhancing the understanding of geological formations.
